Abstract
Ocular toxocariasis rarely causes optic neuritis. Ocular toxocariasis should be suspected in patients with painless optic neuritis and history of raw food consumption, contact with animals, or pica. Diagnosis of ocular toxocariasis is based on detection of toxocariasis antigen using enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), hypereosinophilia, and increased serum IgE. We report a patient with ocular toxocariasis that initially presented with steroid-responsive optic neuritis.
